On Thursday, December 6th, the Jewish Center for Justice joins with the greater California community of advocates who are bringing justice and hope to migrant families and asylum seekers at the border.

To take action today, call your Member of Congress (you can reach U.S. Representatives by calling 202-225-3121, and U.S. senators by calling 202-224-3121). Here’s how to figure out who represents you. Unsure how to convey your message? Here’s a sample script you’re welcome to follow:

Hello, my name is _______. I live in (city, state) and I am an activist with the Jewish Center for Justice.  I am calling today to express deep concern regarding the humanitarian crisis at the U.S. southern border.  I am asking the (Member of Congress/Senator) to use their power to request more judges and caseworkers be sent to the border to help expedite asylum applications.  I also wish to encourage Senator/Congressmember _______ to send a letter to the Administration requesting information on the decision to send troops rather than caseworkers to the border to prepare for incoming asylum seekers.  Thank you for your time and we look forward to working with you to ensure that all who come to this country in need are met with humanity and compassion.

When you finish calling your elected officials, connect with the San Diego Rapid Response Network, which is on the ground to help with the current humanitarian crisis at the border. Other partners include ACLU of San Diego and Imperial Counties, Employee Rights Center, Jewish Family Service of San Diego, SEIU Local 221 and San Diego Organizing Project. Read more here.

Make the call and then share the image below to encourage others to do the same.
