Sample script:

Hello, my name is [Your Name] and I’m calling as a member of the Jewish Center for Justice in zip code [your zip code].

I am urging [name of representative] to vote for AB 2047. This bill requires all 3D printers that are sold in California to feature technology that blocks the printing of, or files that contain the blueprint of illegal firearm parts and ghost guns. The bill also prevents people from creating illegal firearms or firearm parts that are untraceable due to being made at home. AB 2047 ensures that 3D printers made for consumers that are sold in California cannot be used easily to print firearms or prohibited firearm parts.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

What is JCJ advocating for?

AB 2047 would:

  • Help stop the production of untraceable ghost guns and reduce access to illegally manufactured weapons.
  • Require 3D printers sold in California to include technology that prevents the printing of illegal firearms and firearm components.

Why are we advocating for blocking the printing of illegal firearms?

The Jewish Center for Justice believes in our responsibility to protect human life, which is reflected in the Jewish teaching of Lo Tirtzach –”You shall not murder”– and Pikuach Nefesh, the obligation to save a life. Guided by these principles, we stand firmly in the support of AB 2047, which is legislation that would require 3D printers to prevent the printing of illegal firearms, ghost guns, and firearm parts.
