JCJ Executive Director Rabbi Joel Simonds has offered the following words during this time of uncertainty:

“As the votes continue to be counted, we look toward a brighter tomorrow knowing that we did the work together. We made calls. We sent texts. We registered voters. We worked the polls. And we accomplished this all under the banner of a coalition promoting care, compassion, and conscience.

“Whatever the result of this consequential election is, we will march forward knowing that this coalition will not be broken, but strengthened to ensure that all who seek to breathe the air of hope and possibility can do so without fear. The exodus from oppression is never fast, clean or easy. As a people, we have been through much worse, and we know that we have a great capacity to overcome.”
